It was an exciting challenge to help modernize and unify such a valuable resource for facility management professionals. “We presented TAG Online with a huge and challenging project in the redesign and rebuild of a business to business website that started in 1995. FMLink had published 35,000 pages of content for the targeted audience of facility management professionals over 30 years.
As an existing client of 12 years, The McMorrow Reports had acquired FMLink and transitioned it to TAG for hosting, maintenance, and updating. Its architecture was fragile and appearance was dated, so we knew that TAG was the right team to redesign and reprogram FMLink and then integrate all the content of The McMorrow Reports to create one site.
TAG initiated detailed planning meetings in order to create the new site map, working diligently with the FMLink editorial, design and marketing team to achieve a modern news website that engages the reader with large images and graphics. There were hundreds of categories and subcategories of topics to be merged and aligned to enable content delivery that was user-friendly and immersive. The team had to work on very old website architecture that it had been carefully managing for three years before the full renovation. Between the technical and design team at TAG, a plan emerged and steps were followed carefully to transition all of the content successfully to the gleaming new FMLink.
With enduring patience, TAG Online engaged us thoughtfully as they explained what could be done, challenges to overcome, and options to consider. TAG employs well-honed processes to help the client understand solutions and approaches. The site is fully SEO-enabled and easy to update in WordPress. Advertisers have more opportunities to post digital display advertising and custom content opportunities.
Ultimately, TAG rose to the challenge of FMLink, delivering an outstanding site for our 400,000 plus annual visitors to navigate via the mega menu leading to what is now the largest repository of facility management news, resources, feature articles and reference material in the world.
